In early 2021, Faith Lutheran Preschool and Church started looking into bringing a playground to the grounds of the Church. Playgrounds allow an environment that is a safe space where children can develop crucial physical, social, emotional, and imaginative skills necessary to gain self-confidence, improve coordination, and advance critical thinking capabilities. This would be a great asset for our preschool curriculum, as well as for church and preschool families, Girl Scouts and other groups who use our campus, and the wider community.
We have a concept of an ADA-compliant playground filled with enrichment activities with inputs from the Church and Preschool parents and staff. The target was to provide a place for our youth to be able to not only play, but join in fellowship and increase friendships and physical engagement during the activities and outreach of the Church. It would be conveniently located to the north of the church close to the picnic pavilion.
