The Westside Pool Association was formed as a 501c3 nonprofit for the purpose of providing free swimming lessons to the community in the morning and recreation in the afternoon. The swimming pool was previously operated by the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi and has been closed for over 10 years. The City transferred the deed to the pool property to the Association in March 2026. The Association is raising funds for repairs, seasonal operations, and maintenance from local businesses and private donors as well as applying for community grants.
