Reeves Memorial Medical Center, formerly Tri-Ward General Hospital, has been providing health care for the citizens of Union Parish and surrounding communities for the past seven decades. Founded in 1950 by Dr. William C. Reeves and Dr. Clyde C. Colvin, Reeves Memorial Medical Center has always operated with a focus on patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. Reeves Memorial continues this commitment into our eighth decade of service providing care in the tradition set forth by its founders.
In early 2021, RMMC leadership began creating a master plan for the next 50 years of healthcare at Reeves Memorial. This deliberate process paved the way to planning for a replacement hospital and clinic, with a goal of expanding services while continuing in the proven pattern of compassionate, quality healthcare.
The replacement hospital will be built on the old Bernice school campus. Utilizing current guidelines for modern hospital construction, the design focuses on the patient experience. All under one roof, the new hospital will feature:
• Fifteen modern patient rooms with full bathrooms and space for family members.
• An expanded clinic, ready to provide primary care, dentistry services, and counseling services
• An imaging department with 64-slice CT, mammography, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and echocardiogram
• A safe, secure, and private emergency department with four treatment rooms
• A modern laboratory with thoughtful conveniences to serve patients efficiently
• A large therapy gym with discrete treatment areas and private treatment rooms
• An expanded dining room ready to serve patrons and the community for dine-in or take-out
• A chapel for quiet meditation and reflection
• A 12,000 square foot courtyard for outdoor healing and ambulation
RMMC welcomes donations from grateful patients and members of our community to honor hospital staff, an area of care, a clinical program, or in memorial of a friend or loved one with a financial contribution.
