NATIONAL ROAD MUSEUM PARKTWO MUSEUMS, ONE PATH, YOUR LEGACY
History is built one story at a time, and now one brick at a time.
After years of careful planning, the National Road Museum in Boonsboro Maryland opened its doors to the public in 2024. Through grants and donations, the National Road Museum was able to complete the first stage of a state-of-the-art facility telling the rich history of the construction and development of America’s first interstate highway. Creation of the National Road Museum Park will begin in the next few months in the area between the National Road Museum and our sister facility, the Boonsboro Trolley Station Museum. The Park will have seating for the public, a stage for plays/entertainment and an educational true-to-life pathway demonstrating the physical development of the National Road since its inception in 1806.
We are inviting our neighbors, friends and businesses to be a lasting part of this exciting “path to success” through the placement of personalized bricks which will become a permanent part of the new Parks pathway. Purchasers may choose the words to be engraved on their brick using a process developed for lifetime durability.
The funds raised through this legacy project will be used to ensure that the story of the road known as “America’s Main Street” is told for generations to come.
