Healing Garden Engraved Brick Project This year is a big milestone in the history of Foss Home and Village. It is our 90th year of providing compassionate care and services for older adults in the Puget Sound Area. This is an amazing accomplishment that has enabled Foss to serve generations of families since 1929. To acknowledge this significant milestone, Foss is designing a Healing Garden for residents, families and staff to enjoy and find some quiet serenity. Part of the Garden will be an installation of engraved bricks. The number of bricks purchased will determine how they will be installed in the Garden. A brick is a special way to honor a loved one, recognize a special event and leave a legacy. You can recognize a loved one that has passed, a wedding anniversary or a special person's accomplishments. The bricks are engraved using state of the art laser technology, ensuring long lasting strength and durability of the engraving. The image is 'vitrified' into the brick. The vitrification process actually converts the engraved portion of the clay product into a hardened glass, which withstands the elements unlike any other engraving method. These personalized bricks offer a unique and lasting way to memorialize or honor a loved one. Leave a legacy for yourself, family member or words of wisdom for those that visit Foss in the future. The hope is, garden visitors will share in some of the special tributes engraved on the legacy bricks.
