The Crooms AoIT Alumni Association, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of the Crooms AoIT Alumni Panther Walk at Crooms Academy of Information Technology. Alumni, community partners, and supporters can show their panther pride and support Crooms AoIT athletics at the same time by purchasing a brick that will be installed in the area in front of the Joseph and Wealthy Crooms Memorial Wall.

About Crooms AoIT
Crooms Academy of Information Technology (AoIT) opened in 2001 as Seminole County Public Schools’ premier technology magnet school. Crooms AoIT is consistently one of the best performing public schools in Central Florida, proudly carrying forward the Crooms legacy of being rich in tradition, pride, and vision. Crooms AoIT stands on the site of the original Crooms Academy which opened in 1926 to serve Seminole County’s African American students. The school is a community cornerstone and is part of Sanford’s heritage.

The first order of bricks was placed in the summer of 2022 and construction started in August 2022. The Alumni Association plans to place a new order annually.

About the Crooms AoIT Alumni Panther Walk
The creation of the Alumni Panther Walk has been eagerly awaited by Crooms Academy and Crooms AoIT graduates alike as a way to show their pride in, and support of, our alma mater. The Walkway will be a multi-year project to install between 650-800 bricks in front of the Joseph and Wealthy Crooms Memorial Wall. The Memorial Wall is located between Crooms AoIT’s central courtyard behind the media center and the Crooms AoIT athletic field.

The first brick order will be placed at the end of 2021-2022 school year and the first installation is expected to occur by the fall of 2022. More information will be shared in the future about a groundbreaking ceremony.

Getting your name or company included in the Crooms AoIT Alumni Panther Walk
Alumni, community partners, and supporters of Crooms AoIT can have their name included in the Alumni Brick Walkway by purchasing a brick at one of the below sponsorship levels (example photos included below in the order area):

Corporate Sponsor ($400):
• 4” by 8” brick with your logo included and up to one (1) line of text.
• Your company name featured on the Crooms AoIT athletics website and in select hand- outs at home games.
• Additional perks to be announced

Panther Donor (for Alumni and community partners) ($150):
• 4” by 8” brick and up to three (3) lines of text; optional clipart graphic an additional $5
• Membership in the Alumni Association as a Panther Donor member for one year from your donation. Membership includes:
     • Recognition on Alumni Association website as a Panther Donor(1)
     • Recognition in the Crooms AoIT Lobby as a Panther Donor during the spring semester(1)
     • Eligibility to serve on the Crooms AoIT Alumni Association Board
     • Ability to serve on the Scholarship Selection Committee
     • Priority selection for Alumni Association speaking engagements and panels (Teach-in Day, TechFest, etc)

Individuals may choose to remain anonymous for the purposes of being highlighted by the Crooms AoIT Alumni Association by informing support@croomsalumni.com.

Class of 2024 Graduates ($100):
• 4” by 8” brick and up to three (3) lines of text; optional clipart graphic for an extra $5
• Membership in the Alumni Association as a Panther Donor member for one year from your donation. Membership includes:
     • Recognition on Alumni Association website as a Panther Donor(1)
     • Recognition in the Crooms AoIT Lobby as a Panther Donor during the spring semester(1)
     • Eligibility to serve on the Crooms AoIT Alumni Association Board
     • Ability to serve on the Scholarship Selection Committee
     • Priority selection for Alumni Association speaking engagements and panels (Teach-in Day, TechFest, etc)

Questions and Answers

1) How will funds be used? All purchases made are made through the Crooms AoIT Alumni Association, Inc. - a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Monies raised will be used for three (3) purposes:
a) Pay for the cost of the bricks and operate the program
b) Provide direct support to Crooms AoIT’s athletics program (Go Panthers!)
c) Provide funding for the Crooms AoIT Alumni Association’s grant program for sports teams and student clubs.

2) Is my purchase tax deductible? Under IRS rules, you can only deduct the amount that exceeds the fair market value of the benefit received from your donation. The Crooms AoIT Alumni Association, Inc. is happy to provide you with a donation receipt that notates this fair market value - please contact support@croomsalumni.com.

3) When can I see my brick? Bricks will be ordered after the end of each school year and installed in the fall.

4) What is your target and how long will the program last? This is expected to be a multi-year program. Please note, out-year prices WILL INCREASE - so it is best to purchase your brick now.
