The fundraiser asks for donors to "Please help Ketchikan rebuild what took Veterans generations to build."
The American Legion Post #3 Ketchikan Alaska is one of the oldest Post's in the nation. Family and friends have an opportunity to order a brick to support the rebuild efforts of our beloved Post 3 that was burned to the ground by arson on September 10, 2023. With this loss, went over 100 years of artifacts and history. This post was a large part of the Ketchikan community and it was my home. Although the building, historic documents, and irreplaceable military memorabilia have been lost, the American Legion stands strong because of its members and mission. We will come together and rebuild! We will continue "to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy."
You may individualize a brick for you, your family, honor a loved one, or make a memorial. The bricks will be used as a lasting tribute, paving the way for generations to come. You don't have to be a member of the American Legion to contribute.
