Build the Future... One Brick at a Time

Community Action Council is proud to launch a Brick Fundraising Campaign to support the opening of the new Prep Academy at Palmer Complex, an early education center being built across from William Wells Brown Elementary School and scheduled to open in early 2027.

Located in Lexington’s historic East End, the Prep Academy at Palmer Complex will educate and prepare 100 young children each year for success in Kindergarten and beyond.

Individuals, families, and businesses are invited to purchase an engraved brick that will become a permanent part of the campus. A brick can be used to:
Honor or remember a loved one
Celebrate a child or family milestone
Recognize a business or organization
Support early childhood education in the East End

Community Action Council’s goal is to install 250 engraved bricks on a pathway that will welcome children and families for generations to come.

This campaign also serves as a tribute to the history of the surrounding East End neighborhood, including the historic grounds of the Kentucky Association Racetrack, once an important center of African American achievement and community pride.

Invest in children. Honor history. Leave your legacy.

Brick color to be determined by Community Action Council
